From wasteland to tasteland

Article Abstract:

Cultural development is playing a key role in inner-city regeneration in Sheffield, England. There are plans to create a vibrant Cultural Industries Quarter in a run-down part of the city, building on the fact that photography, film- and video-making, broadcasting and music-recording are employing growing numbers of people. Ventures already completed include the renovation of the Site Gallery and the construction of the Workstation, an office development for designers, commercial artists and producers.
