Garden chemicals

The British used 320 million pounds sterling worth of garden chemicals in 1997, which represent 12% of the overall household outlay on garden products. The business is categorized into growing media, fertilizers and pesticides and herbicides, each having its own market coverage. Meanwhile, pesticides and herbicides maintains robust sales although it remains the smallest of the three categories. Cream

Article Abstract:

Cream consumption in the UK reached 52 million liters in 1997, which is equivalent to 137 million pounds sterling in value. Between 1993 and 1997, sales volume increased by 12% while value growth reached 11% although this reflected a decline in real terms. The most prominent category is fresh cream, which accounted for 68% of the market in terms of volume and 66% in terms of value. The growth of the fresh cream sector is explained by the popularity of luxury products. The other important sectors of the cream market were non-dairy creams and UHT creams.

Washing machines and dryers

Article Abstract:

The washing machines industry has recovered from the slump in 1991/1992 with an increase in sales to above two million units in 1997/1998. The increasing sales of budget-priced machines and slower sales of the more expensive washer dryers have resulted in the drop in unit sales value for washing machines although they are now stable at 360 pounds sterling. A decrease in sales of clothes dryers to 560,000 units was observed in 1990/1991 but was reversed in 1997/1998 to increase to 750,000 units.
