Good lender? YES or NO

Article Abstract:

There has been considerable controversy between mortgage lenders in the UK recently about what borrowers' main concerns are when they are seeking a mortgage. Telephone-based financial services company Direct Line believes that borrowers are looking for a mortgage which can be paid off without any penalties, for a low mortgage rate which is available to all borrowers and for a good mortgage rate which does not require the borrower to purchase other financial products. However, other mortgage lenders believe that the opportunity to receive face-to-face advice is also very important for many borrowers.

So the doctor's news is grim ...

Article Abstract:

Critical illness insurance aims to make available a large, tax-free lump payment on diagnosis of a specific potentially fatal medical condition. It will also make a payment if the policyholder becomes unable to work through disablement. The payment can be used for specialist treatment or equipment, and also provides a valuable source of income for the period during which the policyholder cannot work. It is common for those receiving a payment under a critical illness insurance policy to use it to help pay off a mortgage or to convalesce.

Foul, abusive and embarrassing language - it's par for the course on the floor of Liffe

Article Abstract:

Traders on the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (Liffe) are regularly fined small sums of money for offences such as moving out of their allotted positions or swearing at another trader. However, the disciplinary body of Liffe has taken stronger action against Colin 'Ned' Kelly, one of the exchange's top traders. He has been fined 500 pounds sterling for using foul language against one of Liffe's floor-based observers.
