He's an evangelist, his mission is the Net. 70 million have joined but he wants more

Article Abstract:

Fundamental changes must be made to the Internet before it can achieve its full potential, according to Joseph De Feo, former head of IT at Barclays Group. He believes that the Internet can become a global business tool, and regards it as one of the most valuable business resources of the future. 'We are going to be a major player in the Internet space. Technically, we have really figured this out.' (Kim Polese, co-founder of Marimba)(Interview)

Article Abstract:

Marimba's Castanet product, which represents a new method of delivering information across the Internet, has great potential, according to Kim Polese, one of the company's founders. Castanet already has a worldwide user base of 100,00, and this is constantly expanding. The main advantage of this technology is that it allows information to be transmitted, or 'pushed,' across the Internet rather than users having to search for it. It can therefore personalise information sent to users.

In the fax lane on the information highway

Article Abstract:

The Internet has great potential, according to ANS Communications CEO Bruce Bond. He is strongly committed to Internet Protocol (IP), which he believes can allow people to work more effectively together and send and receive information very easily. ANS is planning to launch a service that will allow faxes to transmit via the Internet instead of over the ordinary telephone network. This could dramatically reduce communications costs for fax users and provide valuable business for ANS.
