How I learnt to move on by going backwards

Article Abstract:

Everybody feels that they are at least the servant of chronology and time, if not their victims. Life simply carries on, and nobody can be sure where they will find the core of significance around which their life is constructed. Some people try to obscure the presence of time or even live outside it. This can be done through pursuits such as writing fiction. Others realize that they can make some sense of their existence by seeing life as going backwards, rather than forwards.

It is also possible to travel by coach or ferry. Within the Netherlands, the best mode of transport is the train.
