How MPVs took us all for a ride

Article Abstract:

Many MPV owners find that it is too difficult and time-consuming to remove some of the seats if they wish to carry large items. For this reason, they leave the seven- or five-seat format unchanged nearly all the time, thus greatly reducing the versatility of the vehicle. Indeed, problems with removing MPV seats mean that it is in fact more practical to choose an estate car with seats that fold down. The only MPV which shows real flexibility is the Vauxhall Zafira, which is to be launched in 1998.

It'll ride up with wear

Article Abstract:

Carol O'Dell designs and tailors stage outfits for musicians, allowing for image, colour and movement. Musicians rehearse in jeans and feel restricted when performing in formal dress. They need room for reaching and breathing but sleeves must not be so loose they ride up. O'Dell checks an individual's technique to see which arm has developed more. Different instruments all make their own demands on the players, affecting the movement required from their garments.
