How Spencer makes his mark in management

Article Abstract:

Fleming Asset Management Head of UK and European Equities Andrew Spencer feels that he adopts a holistic approach, considering the balance of the entire investment portfolio. He considers sets of companies and seeks to construct a balanced portfolio on that basis, rather than concentrating on the benefits of individual stocks. He feels that being cheap is not sufficient justification for investing in a stock. He emphasizes that mistakes are inevitable and that there is no room for sentiment when seeking to run a successful portfolio.
