How an outsider beat the 'toffs' to the top in TV

Article Abstract:

New BBC Director-General Greg Dyke does not appear to fit the mould of a typical BBC top executive. He comes from a modest background, speaks with a working class accent and is very outspoken. The extensive bureaucracy at the BBC will be rather sceptical about him, especially has he has never worked there during his varied career. It is clear that he dislikes the traditional British establishment, and this may bring him into conflict with some people at the BBC.
