If an ad agency got pregnant ...

Article Abstract:

The break-up of advertising agency Saatchi and Saatchi following the removal of Maurice and Charles Saatchi by fellow stockholders in Dec 1994 was accompanied by considerable bitterness. It initially appeared that the break-up would cause permanent damage to all involved. However, the two separate agencies that emerged from the break-up, M and C Saatchi and Saatchi and Saatchi, are both performing well. There is a new air of modesty at both agencies, and corporate structures have been greatly simplified.

The adman adds substance to his style

Article Abstract:

The traditional distinction between the account-handling and creative functions within UK advertising agencies is becoming blurred. Creative staff are becoming more involved in presenting their own ideas, and this means that advertising agencies are having to address the changing role of account-handlers. It will be necessary to review the entire account-handling function as agencies take on more project work and the nature of relationships with clients changes.
