In my day you earned it, son

Article Abstract:

Some parents can find it hard to feel positive about a child who becomes a very high achiever and earns a great deal of money. Parents generally state that they only want their children to be happy and secure, but may be unable to genuinely take pride in their child's achievements. Psychologists believe that occasionally parents can feel threatened or even inadequate if their children prove to be very high achievers. They can fail to realize that the world of work has changed dramatically in recent years and that early rapid career progress is now more common than it used to be.

Super secretaries who speak in tongues

Article Abstract:

There are attractive job opportunities in the UK for secretaries who can offer fluency in one or more foreign languages. There is growing demand for oriental languages, but the most sought-after language at present is German. This is particularly the case among financial institutions, as German is the main language in banking and finance. In order to gain true fluency in a foreign language, it will probably be necessary to spend some time abroad. It is important to be aware that employers will also demand strong all-round skills.

When flirting can be fatal

Article Abstract:

Office flirtations can seem safe and enjoyable, but can often have negative repercussions. There can be particular problems when the two people involved are not equal in the office hierarchy. Those who have just entered the world of work are vulnerable to being damaged by an office flirtation, as they often fail to realize that office life is not based on equality, unlike student life. It is advisable to ensure that flirtation remains superficial.
