Article Abstract:

The conflict between Serbs and ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, does not directly affect UK interests, but it is still right for the UK to become involved in military action against the Serbs. This is because Serbia has been guilty of repression and ethnic cleansing. Similarly, it is right for the UK to take direct action in other parts of the world where serious conflict is taking place, such as Sierra Leone. The UK enjoys considerable wealth and security, and it should therefore be prepared to risk the lives of its soldiers to bring wealth and security to other countries.

Article Abstract:

There can be many challenges associated with beginning a successful career in broadcasting. Phillipa Thomas was an unknown, inexperienced reporter for the BBC in the US before the trial of Louise Woodward, which gave her considerable public exposure. Her talent as a broadcaster has been recognized very suddenly, and she is set to become a star correspondent for the BBC. Experiences of taking over Jimmy Young's extremely popular radio show for three weeks are also described.
