It's not easy being a child genius

Article Abstract:

The parents of a child who is exceptionally academically gifted can often find this situation very difficult to cope with. They face resentment from other parents, while many local education authorities are unable to offer the child the special teaching which is necessary. Parents often feel isolated, and may reach the stage where they are overwhelmed by their own child. The gifted child may also feel lonely, as other children find it hard to understand why the child is different.

Nicer work

Article Abstract:

Many people find pursuing a conventional career extremely stressful, especially if they have to work very long hours. This can sometimes prompt them to consider a much more unusual alternative. In some cases, they turn to an occupation which has previously just been an interest, while in others they decide to do something more socially useful. Taking up an alternative career can also bring problems, but most people who decide to do so do not regret making the move.

Could you walk away from a baby like this?

Article Abstract:

People who were abandoned as a baby can experience emotional difficulties throughout their life. They find it very hard to accept that they know nothing about their background, and feel that everyone has a history except them. Knowing nothing about their real family can also cause practical problems, as they can never know their exact day of birth or whether they are at risk from any hereditary medical problems.
