Minimalists do it on tap and don't mop up afterwards

Article Abstract:

Virtual reality technology will allow visitors to the Interbuild exhibition at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England, to experience a minimalist bathroom designed by John Pawson. This bathroom initially appears to be extremely spartan, but in fact there are many concealed features that make it luxurious. There is a retractable glass roof, for example, and this gives the impression that the water from the shower is actually falling from the sky. The bathroom was inspired by a 16th century Mogal garden in Kashmir constructed by architect Shah Jehan.

Pursuits of the Millennium - the divine side of Tyneside

Article Abstract:

The towns of Gateshead, England, and Newcastle, England, were for many years bleak places characterized by decaying buildings. However, they have been successful in gaining funds from the National Lottery and the Arts Council, and are now undergoing an architectural revival. The emphasis in Gateshead has been on culture, while Newcastle has focused on reviving the inner city area. The towns have attracted new businesses, and Newcastle is now the fifth-largest retail centre in the UK.
