Norman Rossington

Article Abstract:

Norman Rossington was an actor who often portrayed lower ranking servicemen. He was born in Liverpool, England, and began his career with a local drama group, later moving to the Bristol Old Vic and the Theater Royal in Bristol. Rossington appeared in the 'Carry On' series of movies, as well as 'The Army Game', and 'Lawrence of Arabia'. He was also a stage actor and appeared in works such as 'Brecht on Brecht', 'Saint Joan' and appeared in musicals like 'Guys and Dolls'.

Stubby Kaye

Article Abstract:

Actor and singer Stubby Kaye won the Major Bowes Amateur Hour contest on radio in 1939, thus gaining entry to vaudeville. He continued to work in vaudeville after the second world war, and became particularly known as Master of Ceremonies for swing orchestras. He made his Broadway debut in 'Guys and Dolls,' and then appeared in 'L'il Abner' in 1955. He also appeared in a number of films, including '40 Pounds of Trouble' and 'Sex and the Single Girl.'

Richard Denning

Article Abstract:

Actor Richard Denning graduated with a Masters in Business Administration from Woodbury Business College. He took a night school course in drama, and won a long-term contract with Paramount after winning a radio contest to find new actors. He made more than 50 films for Paramount between 1937 and 1942. He joined the Navy during the second world war, and after the war was more involved in radio acting than in film work.
