The extensive use of new technology means that new houses being constructed in the UK now offer value for money. Features such as atria and balconies have become more common, and the more upmarket new homes and flats are now comfortable, convenient and spacious. Purpose-built properties have a number of advantages over conversions, including modern fixtures and energy efficiency. In many cases, housing developers are now offering designers and craftspeople to assist with furnishing and fitting out properties.
