Reduced-price insanity

Article Abstract:

Many people visit the January sales, even though they have just received large numbers of Christmas gifts and do not really need to buy anything. In many cases, they make purchases which they later regret. For people who are very interested in shopping, the January sales are a continuation of the pre-Christmas period, when over-indulgence is regarded as acceptable. Some people merely browse in the sales simply to cheer themselves up, while compulsive shoppers really believe that material things will help them to overcome all their problems.

More than just a running track ...

Article Abstract:

There are many interesting places to visit along the route of the London Marathon. In Blackheath, where the race begins, these include the Pagoda, Eliot Vale, which was constructed in 1760 and was home to Princess Caroline, and Italian confectionery shop A Gambardella. Further along the route, it is worth deviating off Woolwich Road to visit the Thames Flood Barrier and taking a close look at the white stucco frontages of Nos 97-111 Old Woolwich Road. Other possible destinations are the Greenwich Maritime Museum and the Fan Museum.

You should cocoa

Article Abstract:

The majority of Easter eggs sold in the UK contain saturated or hydrogenated vegetable fat. These are rejected by chocolate experts, who claim that the only fat in chocolate should be cocoa butter and that chocolate should contain at least 35% cocoa solids. Many are against milk chocolate, feeling that milk masks cocoa. Mass-produced Easter eggs are usually made from old chocolate, whereas the best chocolate is always fresh.
