Revolution? What revolution?

Article Abstract:

The greatest impact of digital television in the UK will initially be on those involved in marketing, who will be responsible for inventing names for the around 300 channels that will eventually be available. Those who have made a significant commitment to digital television believe that it will have a substantial impact on the lives of ordinary people. However, it is possible that new digital technologies will be used in ways which cannot possibly be predicted. It is vital to ensure that digital broadcasting is strictly regulated, ensuring objectivity and decency.

Pay up, pay up and play the game

Article Abstract:

A fierce legal battle is taking place in the UK over whether football clubs should negotiate television rights agreements individually or be permitted to negotiate collectively, as is the case at present, under the auspices of the Premier League. Many witnesses have been called by the Premier League as it seeks to defend the current arrangement, while Director-General of Fair Trading John Bridgeman has argued that this arrangement is anti-competitive.
