Riddle of Scottish traveller 'shot dead by a gang of Somali pirates.'

Article Abstract:

Relatives of Alan MacLean, who is reported to have been killed by armed pirates aboard the French-registered yacht 'Correlation' off the coast of Somalia, are not convinced that this is really what happened to him. Indeed, they doubt that he is dead at all, even though it is certainly true that there have been attacks on ships sailing close to the Somali coast. They have revealed that MacLean had expressed concern about his safety aboard the yacht, and question why the pirates did not kill the French skipper, Philippe Sorel, and a female companion.
