Roseanne Barr the lottery loser of all time

Article Abstract:

The television series 'Roseanne' was once extremely popular, but is now slipping in the ratings. The current series will be the last, and ABC Television may even go as far as to drop the series before it officially comes to an end. Many observers feel that the writers of the series have given in too much to the influence of Roseanne Barr, the star of the series, especially in making her win more than $100 million in the lottery. The series has become self-indulgent and has lost touch with ordinary viewers.

'I'd just like to thank my hairdresser...' (planning for the Oscar ceremony)

Article Abstract:

A great deal of planning is required to ensure that the annual Oscar ceremony is a success. Limousines must be ordered, flowers arranged and fittings held for designer clothes many months in advance. Oscar nominees are determined to look their best, so there is strong demand for the services of weight-loss consultants and jewelry designers, for example. There are also extensive preparations at the actual venue of the award ceremony, with food being prepared by more than 50 chefs.
