Sarajevo fights for freedom

Article Abstract:

The Bosnian Serbs are facing tough opposition from the Bosnian government army to their efforts to maintain their stranglehold on the city of Sarajevo. Some observers believe that the Bosnian government is now embarking on the final offensive to break the siege of the city and to eliminate Bosnian Serb forces from the mountains which they have used as their base for their attacks on Sarajvo. However, others believe that the latest moves could simply be an effort to cut Bosnian Serb supply routes.

The carousel stops turning for a family trapped in war

Article Abstract:

The experiences of the residents of Bosanska Krupa are typical of many ordinary people who have been displaced by the war in Bosnia. The Bosnian Serbs destroyed many Muslim homes in the town, and returning refugees whose houses are still standing are finding that their hurridly abandoned possessions have disappeared. There is a sense of community between ordinary people, even those from different ethnic backgrounds. Those returning have not taken revenge against the few remaining Serbs there.
