Scott Russell

Article Abstract:

Scott Russell was a botanist and mountaineer who emigrated to New Zealand from Britain with his family when he was eight-years-old, and became interested in mountaineering in the peaks of South Island. He was then a postgraduate students at Imperial College, England, and went on a number of expeditions to study plnat physiology. He spent time as a prisoner of war of the Japanese during the 1939-1945 war, and grew vegetables which helped to feed other prisoners. He became the director of the Radiobiological Laboratory of the Agricultural Research Council in Britain in 1957, holding this post for 20 years.

Nicholas Saunders

Article Abstract:

Writer and businessman Nicholas Carr-Saunders undertook studies at Imperial College, London, England, but did not gain a degree. He became fascinated with the hippy lifestyle of the 1960s, and published the first edition of Alternative London in 1970. He used his private means to start ventures or to allow others to do so, and established a wholefood shop which was sold in the mid-1980s. He then started the first Desk Top Publishing studio.

Stuntman Russell Saunders was born in Winnipeg, Canada, in 1919. He developed his acrobatic skills from an early age, and later was able to somersault over 14 people.
