U-turn on testing for Balkan soldiers

A statement from UK Armed Forces Minister John Spellar indicates that military personnel who served in Bosnia and Kosovo, Yugoslavia, will be investigated for contamination from depleted uranium weapons. Bombers smashed bridge, then hit again

Article Abstract:

A bridge in Vavarin, Yugoslavia, was destroyed when a missile was dropped by an aircraft, and at least 11 people died, with over 40 injured. The bridge was hit twice, with those seeking to help the initial victims caught in the second attack. Nato argues that civilian casualties are not intentional, and has focused on attempts to develop a peace plan acceptable to both Yugoslav president, Slobodan Milosevic, and to Nato. Meanwhile, Kosovo, Yugoslavia, appears bleak, with sightings of burning villages.
