Shooting up

Article Abstract:

The use of illegal drugs has risen rapidly in the UK over recent years, and illegal drugs now have a turnover worth up to 10 billion pounds sterling a year. Illegal drugs have now been used by around 48% of people aged between 16 and 24, up by 3% from 1994. Suppliers of illegal drugs have been reducing prices in order to expand the consumer base, and in some cases are supplying heroin to schoolchildren at below retail cost. The most popular illegal drug is cannabis, which is regularly used by around 1.73 million people.

How we destroyed Sukarno

Article Abstract:

Groups from the UK Foreign Office, the State Department, MI6 and the CIA were all involved in efforts to depose Indonesia's President Sukarno, who was forced to hand over his presidential authority to General Suharto in Mar 1966. The Foreign Office regarded its operations in Indonesia as very successful, but they have remained a secret until now. It is clear that the Foreign Office was prepared to go to considerable lengths during the Cold War to intervene in the affairs of other countries.
