Simpson trial puts DNA on the lips of every American

Article Abstract:

The trial of former American footballer O.J Simpson for the murder of his former wife Nicole Brown and a male friend has now been running for three months, and has finally reached a critical point. This concerns the use of DNA as evidence. The prosecution claims that DNA testing shows that a blood drop at the murder scene is that of Simpson, as there would only be an extremely remote chance that it would be the blood of his former wife. The case has turned genetics into an issue discussed widely by the general public.

OJ hopes for a jury of his fans

Article Abstract:

OJ Simpson, sports star accused of two murders, must use all his acting skills to gain the support of the jury sitting at his trial. The case has attracted extensive public interest over recent months, and opening statements are now to finally start. It is likely that new revelations will be made soon, even though there has been so much media discussion of the case already. The trial is likely to last several months, and the fact that six of the eight women jurors are black may prove critical.

Police dammed by own evidence in OJ case

Article Abstract:

Lawyers acting for former American footballer OJ Simpson, who is accused of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, claim that he is the victim of a police conspiracy and of the actions of a racist detective. Initial questioning of witnesses has revealed a suspiciously close link between police officers and OJ Simpson, with the image of the Los Angeles Police Dept being further damaged after already very negative publicity over the attack by officers on Rodney King in Mar 1991.
