So Texas thinks this is a humane substitute for the electric chair?

Article Abstract:

Lethal injection, rather than the electric chair, is now used for executions in Texas. The execution may be witnessed by up to five people, with the person who administers the injection being hidden away in another room. The atmosphere is rather like that in a hospital, although no doctors are actually involved in administering the injection. Some observers believe that lethal injection is not appropriate for executions, as it means that the prisoner merely drifts off to sleep, rather than experiencing the pain of death.

Have handbag, will travel

Article Abstract:

Former prime minister Margaret Thatcher found it very hard to adjust to leaving the political spotlight, but now works extremely hard on a number of projects, even though she receives little media attention. She has established the Margaret Thatcher Foundation, which aims to promote her free enterprise ideology throughout the world, and works very long hours on this project. It has not yet taken off as she had hoped, but she has become extremely wealthy through other work, such as international speaking engagements.

Any humane regime incurs risk

Article Abstract:

The recent suicide by murderer Frederick West has revived concern about the safety and security of prisoners. Some observers have stated that West should have been kept under constant surveillance, and others claim that the government has lost control over the prison service. However, the government has already taken steps to reduce the number of suicides among prisoners, and the humanitarian aspect must be taken into account, with many people regarding constant surveillance of prisoners as degrading and inhumane.
