Stipple, by all means, but be subtle

Article Abstract:

Paint effect specialist Jocasta Innes is now running one-day workshops covering a range of paint techniques. Those attending are gently steered away from the sometimes rather excessive techniques of the 1980s, and are encouraged to attempt a more simple look. Latest durable water-based paints are very easy to use, and unexpected ingredients such as vinegar, sugar and washing-up liquid can also produce pleasing results.
