Studying from afar

Article Abstract:

Many managers in the UK find that they cannot afford to devote one or two years of their working life to studying full-time for a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). For this reason, business schools are increasingly offering the opportunity to study for an MBA by distance or open learning. The largest distance learning MBA programme is that offered by the Open University, accounting for 40% of all distance learning MBA enrolments. Other leading providers of distance or open learning MBA courses include Henley Management College and Leicester University Management Centre.

Applying for a licence to manage

Article Abstract:

There are a number of factors to take into account when choosing an MBA course. First, a choice must be made between studying full-time or part-time. Studying part-time may restrict the choice of business school, while studying full-time is more expensive. Many people choose part-time study, and some opt for distance learning, evening MBAs or executive MBAs, where teaching takes place at weekends. A decision must also be made between a generalist MBA course and MBA courses aimed at specific occupational sectors or business disciplines.
