Stone fantasised about killing and pleaded for help

Article Abstract:

Michael Stone, who has been convicted of the murders of Lin and Megan Russell and the attempted murder of Josie Russell, told his psychiatric nurse shortly before the attack that he was going to kill. However, it was not possible to find anywhere suitable for his treatment, so no action was taken. He had already shown violent tendencies, and was also a heroin addict. He experienced instability and violence from an early age, and from the age of nine was involved in drugs and crime.
