The New Muslims: why are so many of us joining the most unpopular religion on earth?

Article Abstract:

Many people are being drawn to Islam, even though this religion has received very negative media coverage in recent decades. A few people convert to Islam as a result of marriage, but more are attracted to Islam through studying Islamic art, architecture or languages, through meeting Muslims or through visiting a Muslim country. Male converts come from many different backgrounds, but it is common for female converts to Islam to have a Roman Catholic background. Islam is still commonly regarded in the West as sexist, extremist and barbaric, and this can create problems for white converts.

It's the end of the world as they know it

Article Abstract:

There are now many millennial groups in the UK and other countries which believe that the world will come to an end as the 21st century approaches. There are now fears that cases of mass suicide of group members, which have already been seen in Switzerland and Canada, could become increasingly common. There have been many similar cults in previous centuries, and specific predictions about the end of the world have often been made, and this has made the latest groups unwilling to make specific predictions.

Just who do they think they are?

Article Abstract:

It is very common for people to have fantasies, but the majority of people ensure that these fantasies do not have an impact on others. However, it is becoming increasingly common for people to pose as someone in an official capacity, such as a doctor or a train driver. In these cases, their actions can have severe repercussions for others. For these people, the fantasy is much stronger than any practical considerations, and they often violate conventional ways of behaving.
