Not appearing on the stage is bearable as long as film roles are multidimensional, according to actor Jonathan Pryce. He no longer feels frustrated with his film roles, so he is not missing working in the theatre. He has recently appeared as the villain in 'Tomorrow Never Dies,' the latest James Bond film, and as a psychiatrist in 'Regeneration,' Gillies McKinnon's adaptation of Pat Barker's novel. He reads many new plays, and admits that he sometimes completely misinterprets their meaning.

Actor Alan Cumming does not mind that he is always asked to play strange characters. Indeed, he often feels that the part of the lead man can be dull. He admits that he sometimes takes parts because he is attracted by financial reward, but always knows why he takes a particular part. He was brought up in very modest circumstances in the Scottish countryside, and has found it very hard to come to terms with the excessive materialism of Hollywood.

He has now become more well known as a television actor, especially as diplomat Francis Urquhart in 'House of Cards.'
