The body snatcher

Article Abstract:

Lyme disease, which is spread by ticks which transmit a bacterium known as Borrelia burgdorferi, is often left undiagnosed, as many doctors in the UK are not aware of its symptoms. This disease can cause serious long-term health problems if left untreated, but can be cured relatively easily with antibiotics in its early stages. Symptoms of Lyme disease include those associated with influenza, such as aching joints and muscles, as well as memory loss, hot flushes and tingling. Complications include facial paralysis, carditis and meningitis.

Hello. I'm your worst nightmare

Article Abstract:

Head lice are a widespread problem in the UK, but parents often become very alarmed and embarrassed when their children are affected. Many parents spend a great deal of money on powerful lotions designed to eliminate head lice, but these can be ineffective. It is best to simply use a special nit comb to remove the lice. Applying ordinary conditioner to the hair first will make this process easier. It would seem sensible for local authorities to issue schools with supplies of inexpensive nit combs.

But mum, we really want to wear uniforms

Article Abstract:

The majority of British children seem to enjoy wearing school uniform. They like being the same as their friends, and do not share the view of some of their parents that uniforms are expensive and unnecessary. Uniform is now present in UK society in many different forms, reflecting the fact that people are desperate for a sense of belonging. Uniforms do not create equality in schools, but schools continue to promote them.
