The jacket fitted. Now I was James Dean

Article Abstract:

Comedian Phill Jupitus feels that the leather jacket he purchased in autumn 1993 made a significant difference to his stage show. He became more aggressive, as the jacket made him feel indestructible. From this point, his comedy began to improve, and he felt that he had a specific look, even though his body image was not particularly striking. He is now aware that a look can be empowering. Being able to purchase a jacket from a high street store was a particular boost to his confidence, as he had often found that such stores did not make clothes large enough for him.

Laugh? We nearly dropped your drawers

Article Abstract:

Harrow Green Removals has recently sent 20 employees on a Humour Relations course as part of its innovative approach to the personal development of its staff. Those who participated initially found the course rather intimidating, as they were obliged to reveal personal details. However, they welcomed the relaxed and positive atmosphere, and found that the course taught them a lot about teamwork and about how to cope with colleagues and customers more effectively.

If I couldn't make 'em laugh it was curtains

Article Abstract:

It is important to try to fulfill a dream, as trying and failing is better than not having tried at all, according to comedian Frank Skinner. He seemed to have no direction in his life when he reached the age of 30 in summer 1987, and this is what prompted him to try to take up a career as a comedian. He was not at all successful at his first appearance in Dec 1987, but was determined to succeed. He now finds it very fulfilling to make people laugh.
