'The rapes went on day and night.' (personal accounts of rape of Muslim women by Serbian gunmen) (includes related article with doctor's description of women.s suffering)

Article Abstract:

Muslim women held in the Kalinovik camp in Bosnia-Herzegovina were terrorised and raped by Serbian gunmen who intended to make them pregnant. On Aug 02, 1992 the Serbs began threatening to murder the women or their children. Over a period of 26 days 95 of the 105 female prisoners were gang-raped by up to seven gunmen. Some women kept diaries. Survivors kept lists of murdered men and women and some of the Serbs, who belonged to the 'White Eagles,' were named.

Journalists in the new 'Palestine' are having to be extremely careful about printing anything which may cause offense to 'president' Yasser Arafat. Newspaper 'Al-Watan' has already been closed down, with its editor being placed under arrest, and the situation remains very tense. Presidential special adviser Marwan Kanafani has defended this action, stating that it is justified in a situation which is verging on war.

Proud Armenians concede heavy defeat

Article Abstract:

Rafik Gazinian, 36, is a medical officer and soldier for the Armenian Tashnag militia. He has been fighting since 1990 and witnessed many Armenian deaths. The Azeris had the support of the 23rd Russian Tank division and Russian planes. They destroyed ancient Armenian churches in Buzluk, Gulista and Manishen and drove 14,000 Armenians from their villages.
