The real world can be an expensive place to live

Article Abstract:

The average UK graduate leaves university owing around 4,000 pounds sterling, and many find this a great financial burden during the first few years of their working life. This problem is set to get worse from 1998, when all but the poorest students will face a 1,000 pounds sterling tuition fee. Furthermore, graduate starting salaries in the UK are relatively low, causing graduates further financial problems. Many banks now offer packages designed to assist graduates during the first few years of their working life.

A growl from Tiger Bay

Article Abstract:

Residents of historic Butetown, situated at the heart of the old Tiger Bay, a mile south of the centre of Cardiff, fear that the redevelopment of Cardiff will destroy their community. The community was developed from coal, iron and the docks, and brought together people from many different backgrounds. They still live in harmony together, but believe that this could come to a sudden end under the regeneration scheme of the Cardiff Bay Redevelopment Corp.
