Scottish Tories face a second shattering defeat

A recent poll has shown further decline in support for the Scottish Tory Party. Plans by the party's leader, David McLetchie, to rebuild the party with a Scottish focus have had little impact. Meanwhile the Labour Party continues to increase its lead with predictions of a possible 50% of the vote.

Tartan: it's the colour of money

Article Abstract:

Sales of newspapers continue to rise in Scotland, and there is fierce competition among Scottish newspapers. Competition is likely to increase as English-based newspapers increase their presence in Scotland and a new Scottish newspaper, the Sunday Herald, is launched by Scottish Media Group. Some observers believe that Scottish Media Group's decision to launch a new newspaper is misguided, especially as its main competitor, Scotland on Sunday, is performing very well.
