The team that vanished

Article Abstract:

The UK Home Office has issued a statement indicating that the 12 members of the Ivory Coast rugby team who vanished after playing in Wales have overstayed their visas and now face arrest and deportation. In theory, Africans should be easy to spot in a rural part of Wales, where there are few strangers. However, the authorities have not yet been able to track down the rugby players. Ivory Coast is the most stable country in West Africa, but poverty is widespread there and employment for young men is limited.

A hanging offence

Article Abstract:

Flower arrangements play a key role in attracting visitors to Bath, England, according to Bath in Bloom committee Chmn Barry Cruse. However, some observers feel that the many hanging baskets the committee has placed on the city's historic buildings are lacking in taste. He feels that the hanging baskets enhance the stonework of these buildings, and emphasizes that they play a key role in allowing Bath to compete in the Britain in Bloom contest.
