The verdict is guilty

Article Abstract:

The Scott inquiry into the arms-to-Iraq affair, which has now published its report after three years of deliberations, has served to show the UK government in a very poor light. It has revealed many of the most unpleasant aspects of the political system, and indicates that deceit and abuse of power took place. It is to be hoped that the report forces a change in the political system and prompts the introduction of stricter regulations on international arms trading.

The answers are all around us

Article Abstract:

British people consider parliament irrelevant and distrust all political parties. The country is depressed and lacking leadership. Local communities take the initiative and get constructive results despite politicians. Westminster is out of touch and needs replacing with a more modern government system. People have power, imagination and dedication, which should be valued and used rather than opposed.

We are making Europe's Palestinians

Article Abstract:

The war in Bosnia-Herzegovina is setting the parameters for future ethnic conflicts, yet the United Nations fails to act decisively or to protect the innocent people who are suffering. Prisoners are undernourished and need medicines. Many Muslim refugees are likely to become radical through lack of international care.
