The window dressers have had their day

Article Abstract:

The recession is moving London office architecture away from the superficially decorated blocks of the 1980's and towards well-designed, smaller buildings for rationalized or smaller companies. Examples of the new architecturally powerful but energy-efficient Modern-style buildings are, 87, Lancaster Road by Munkenbeck & Marshall, La Lumiere in Pennington Street by Rick Mather, and the Fitzpatrick Building in York Way by Chassay Wright.
