A testing time to choose a school

Article Abstract:

It is becoming increasingly common in the UK for parents to be extremely concerned about their children's education. The main areas of concern are the choice of school and the standards achieved by the schools their children may have to attend. There are a number of particularly stressful times faced by parents when determining their children's education, including choice of pre-school provision, National Curriculum Assessments and choice of secondary school.

A credit to the vocation

Article Abstract:

ADT College in Putney, London, England, now offers five General National Vocational Qualification (GNVQ) courses. Its students are required to take one GNVQ in addition to their GCSEs. It began with GNVQs in health and social care, business and manufacturing, but from Sep 1999 will also offer leisure and tourism and art and design. Strong emphasis is placed on ensuring that students obtain skills in which potential employers will be interested.
