Tough guys for God? It's a miracle

Article Abstract:

The Promise Keepers, a men's Christian movement, has become the most rapidly expanding religious movement in the US. It has been extremely successful through using the identity crisis which is now facing American men. They are under strong pressure to have a successful career, while their role as the head of the family is being eroded. Many are unable to cope with family problems such as divorce, and therefore welcome the unity which they feel when attending Promise Keepers events. It is likely that the movement will expand abroad and a women's movement may be set up.

New entente cordiale as Africa is unscrambled

Article Abstract:

The UK and France have made a commitment to working together to assist Africa in areas such as conflict resolution and reducing debt. France still has a strong presence in Africa, with 14 former French colonies using the CFA franc, which is pegged to the French franc and therefore to the euro. However, conflict in Rwanda and the former Zaire has forced France to reconsider its position in Africa. It is unlikely that either the UK or France will be willing to change its approach to Africa very quickly.
