Toxic sludge threatens reserve with disaster

Article Abstract:

The ecologically important buffer zone surrounding the Coto Donana national park near Cadiz, Spain, has been badly affected by toxic mining waste that burst from a deposit lake at a mine near Seville, Spain. However, the waste, which contains poisonous minerals including arsenic and cyanide, will be carried out to sea and will not reach the south-western wetlands of the national park. The park is the remaining refuge for some of the most endangered species in Europe, including the imperial eagle.

The Lord's building site

Article Abstract:

Antonio Gaudi's Church of the Holy Family in Barcelona, Spain, which remains unfinished, continues to attract controversy. There has been particular concern about the additions made by Catalan sculptor Josep Subirachs, who is responsible for completing the project. However, the project also has strong supporters, some of whom even want to make Gaudi a saint. These supporters represent a strong conservative force whom any local politician would be unwilling to confront.
