Turn a squat into a palace

Article Abstract:

Many local councils in the UK are now selling off property which needs extensive refurbishment work. This allows them to raise funds to invest in repairing viable existing housing stock. In some cases, purchasing former council property can bring significant benefits, especially as prices are usually very low. However, it is important for potential purchasers to be aware that such properties may have structural problems. Furthermore, some mortgage lenders may be unwilling to lend money on former council property.
