Two weeks, three couples and six kids equals hell

Article Abstract:

Holidaying with other families can seem like a good idea while you are still at home, but the reality can prove very different. When actually on holiday, other people's children can be a cause of considerable tension, as can financial arrangements and other people's habits with regard to personal hygiene. There is also the danger of being drawn into problems caused by deteriorating relationships. Many people return from a shared holiday determined never to make such an arrangement again, but in many cases they do so.

How long before we go back home?

Article Abstract:

It can often be difficult to arrange a family holiday which suits all members of the family. Renting a holiday home can be an appropriate solution, but such accommodation can sometimes be disappointing and of poor quality. Children sometimes enjoy the unexpected elements of going on holiday, but some children become unsettled and would prefer to be at home. Parents can find it hard to relax if they have to deal with children whose behaviour is very unpredicable.

The great escape

Article Abstract:

Lisbon, Portugal, is a particularly attractive destination in autumn, when it begins to become cold and dark in the UK but the climate in Portugal is still warm and sunny. Significant improvements were made to the city for Expo 98, with new shopping malls, restaurants and cafes having opened. However, visitors can still gain an insight into the traditional way of life in Lisbon. It is a city of many contrasts, both culturally and geographically.
