Article Abstract:

The Ethiopian government acknowledges that the country has considerable potential for developing a thriving tourist industry. Ethiopia has many different attractions, and could therefore be a destination for a range of types of tourism. There are historical attractions such as the ancient cities of Axum and Gondar, and the country also has mountains and game parks. Significant improvements will have to be made to infrastructure and services if Ethiopia is to fully exploit its tourism potential.
