We're not schizoid, we're King Crimson

Article Abstract:

The five original members of the 1960s rock band King Crimson were recently reunited at a preview of 'Epitaph,' a two- or four-volume CD package which contains live versions of the band's most well known songs. The package was edited by Robert Fripp, the band's guitarist, who did not meet up with the other members of the band - Greg Lake, Ian McDonald, Michael Giles and Peter Sinfield - before undertaking the project. The group was particularly successful in 1969, but the original line-up split up at the end of that year.

From Kubla Khan to the Sausage King

Article Abstract:

The Palace of the Lost City is a bizarre resort hotel at Sun City, Bophuthatswana, South Africa, which pretends to be lost in a designer jungle. It has 350 bedrooms set in 65 acres. Leisure group Sun International conceived it with architect Gerald L. Allison of Wimberley Allison Tonga & Goo, who designed the Disneyland Hotel at EuroDisney. Architectural fantasy has always existed. The Temple in Jerusalem and Fonthill Abbey, Wiltshire, England were dream buildings. Modern fantasists use ethnic design.

A final party for art's unlikely hero

Article Abstract:

Art impresario Joshua Compston, who died recently at the age of only 25, had attracted a great deal of media attention. He was seen as a driving force in British contemporary art, having instigated many 'happenings.' To some, he was a revolutionary, while others saw him as a frustrated artist who often mocked others. He was certainly a showman, but his influence can be interpreted in many different ways.
