Teacher suspended at opt-out school as conflict increases

Article Abstract:

A teacher-governor, Harbajhan Singh has been suspended from Stratford School because of his conduct by the headteacher, Anne Snelling. This is causing concern to the government. Ms Snelling has just returned from suspension herself and suspended Mr Singh after racist accusations made in front of the school. The Conservatives had hoped that this opt-out school in a mainly Muslim area with a Labour council, would be a flagship for the cause, but instead it is raising queries about the power of teacher-governors in grant maintained schools.
