The Turner Prize is not a prize

Article Abstract:

There are a number of shortcomings associated with the Turner Prize. These include the fact that artists cannot be shortlisted more than once and that they must be aged under 50. Nominations from the public do very little to influence the judges' opinion.

When it comes to sex, there's nothing quite like an honest Puck

Article Abstract:

The Royal Academy in London, England, is currently staging an exhibition entitled 'Victorian Fairy Painting.' This covers a genre that was extensive and formed part of a more wide-reaching fairy cult in the middle years of the 19th century. However, it produced few really high quality works. The best pictures in this exhibition are George Cruikshank's 'A Fantasy, The Fairy Ring' and Francis Danby's 'Scene from a Midsummer Night's Dream.'
