There has been a strong revival in interest in scooters in the UK. In most cases, scooter fans prefer standard 1960s scooters with few accessories, with Vespa and Lambretta being the most popular models. Scooter fans come from many different social groups, and their appearance therefore differs considerably. However, the most common item of clothing for scooter owners is the MA1 US flight jacket with sewn-on patches indicating attendance at rallies. Hairstyles tend to reflect those that were popular in the 1960s.

Article Abstract:

Kensal Green, built in 1833, was the first of the great metropolitan cemeteries of London. Now there are many restrictions on the size, height, materials and appearance of monuments, but in Victorian times the only stricture on artistic creativity was the cost. Many eminent people are buried here such as Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Thackeray and W H Smith and Frederick Winsor who introduced gas lighting into the UK. Their monuments represent their achievements and are inspiring.
