You're wrong, Mr Blunkett, sex education is essential

Article Abstract:

The United Kingdom Education Secretary, David Blunkett, argues that children should not be given sex education lessons until they are 10 or 11-years-old. Yet children are not as protected as Blunkett would have us believe, as is shown by the case of the 12-year-old mother in Sheffield, where Blunkett comes from. She argued that she wanted a child because her 14-year-old boyfriend loved her. Prime minister, Tony Blair, is aware that children are ill-informed about sex. Sex education can help children to break patterns that lead to teenage pregnancy.
