The British connection: judge says cleric is vital link

Palestinian Abu Qatada has been identified in an indictment by a Spanish investigative judge as the spiritual leader in Europe of Afghanistan's mujahedin. Qatada, who lives in London, England, has been linked with another Islamic cleric who lives in Madrid, Spain, and is alleged to have led a gang directly connected with planning and undertaking the terrorist attacks in the US.

Turf-war murders over crack terrorise black music clubs

Article Abstract:

Black nightclubs in London, England, and Birmingham, England, are considering a number of additional security measures following a series of gun murders. Police believe that many of the shootings are connected with a new conflict over crack cocaine. Investigations are focusing on 200 Jamaican-born criminals thought to be linked with gun crime in the UK. Witnesses to the shootings have been extremely reluctant to assist with the police investigations.
